Halloween Party

Instead of having our monthly Supper Club, we decided to have a Halloween Party instead for the month of October. The party was this past weekend and was SO MUCH FUN. I was a Toy Soldier, a.k.a The Nutckacker.

Natalie starts 4th grade!

I have been horrible about blogging lately. I would promise to be better about it, but who needs the pressure, right? Let's just say 'we'll see'...

So the kids went back to school on August 12th. Natalie went into 4th grade this year at the Intermediate School- no more Elementary School. She loves the new school because it is all big kids and a change of scenery and I love it because it is so much closer to the house and on my way to work.

She loves her teacher, Miss Roland. Miss Roland is actually one of my cousin Ashley's very good friends and Natalie adores Ashley so, naturally, when she discovered they were friends, she was thrilled!

Here are a few pictures from the morning of the first day of school. Natalie insisted on me curling her hair the night before.

Bitsy has new playmates!

My mom and sister got new puppies so Bitsy has playmates now! Bitsy has been playing with my parents' cats, who are bigger than her (I also think Bitsy might think she's a cat sometimes :), and Brocklee tolerates her because he’s older and wiser but doesn’t really play with her a lot- so it will be good for her to be around other puppies.

They just brought them home last night so no names yet but the brown and white one is my mom's and the black and white one is Kelli's but my mom is going to keep both of them together until Kelli's gets a little bigger. My mom still keeps Bitsy while I’m at work so they’ll have plenty of time to get used to each other. They are the cutest little accidents! They were born April 30th and are both girls. The parents are a pure-bred, registered, long-haired Chihuahua and I can’t remember whether the mom is a Miniature Rat Terrier or a Jack Russell Terrier but she is some kind of small Terrier- so they’ll be long-haired and small like Bitsy. The pictures do not do them justice since I had to take them with my phone- but they are so cute! They have the tiniest little heads and the fattest little bodies and are marked beautifully. I know all of the kids are going to love the newest four-footed additions to our family!

Piano Recital

Natalie's first piano recital was on Saturday. She played "When the Saints Go Marching In" and "Ping Pong". Her Mimi and Poppi came to watch her. She did great! I was so proud of her! She just grinned when she took her bow- it was so cute!
